Multidimensional by Nature, Personal by Experience

I have filled several notebooks with the attributes of God—carefully compiled during my intense study and writing of Psalm in 2023 and 2024. Page after page reveals who He is: the God who opens doors no one can shut (Revelation 3:7), the God who leads (Psalm 23:2–3), the One who surrounds and confounds our enemies (Psalm 35:4–5), the God of our future (Jeremiah 29:11), our pride and joy (Isaiah 60:15), our Healer (Exodus 15:26), our Forgiver (1 John 1:9), and our Blesser (Ephesians 1:3).
We know that God’s nature is vast—multidimensional, inexhaustible, and all-sufficient. Scripture tells us, “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:3). But consider this: what if you intentionally anchored yourself in just one attribute of God for a day, a month, or an entire season? What if you not only believed it intellectually but lived as though it were actively at work in your situation? How would your life shift? How would your faith deepen? How would your understanding of God expand?
The woman with the issue of blood for twelve years (Mark 5:25–34) is a powerful example. She knew God as Healer. This was not a distant theological idea for her—it was a lived conviction. She believed it so fully that when she saw Jesus, she pressed through the crowd and touched the hem of His garment, saying, “If I only touch His clothes, I will be healed” (Mark 5:28). Immediately, her body responded. Healing was not just something God could do—it was who He was to her. And He proved faithful.
Likewise, the blind man (Mark 10:46–52) recognized God as the Giver of sight. When Jesus asked him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” he responded plainly, “Rabbi, I want to see.” His request revealed his belief. He had already settled in his heart who Jesus was. And Jesus honored that faith.
This is the invitation before us.
God is not limited to one expression of His nature—He is the God of more than enough (Ephesians 3:20). His attributes are not only infinite; they are active. Each one carries power, depth, and application for every season of life. When you choose to hold onto one attribute of God, you are not reducing Him—you are encountering Him personally. You are allowing that aspect of His nature to become present and operative in your circumstances.
Consider the attribute of God as Merciful. This is not just something He possesses; it is something He does. “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love” (Psalm 103:8). His mercy meets you, covers you, restores you, and carries you. When you live anchored in His mercy, you begin to see His hand actively working in your weakness, your failures, and your need.
So, choose an attribute for this season. Study it. Speak it. Pray it. Live it.
And watch as God not only reveals Himself to you—but moves in your life according to who He has always been.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, you are everything I need—my Healer, my Provider, my Leader, and my Restorer. Open my eyes to see You clearly in this season. Strengthen my faith to not only know who You are, but to live as though it is already true in my life. Teach me to trust Your nature and to lean into Your character daily. Let Your presence become real and active in every situation I face. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Call to Action
Choose one attribute of God for this season. Find Scripture that reveals it, speak it daily, and align your thoughts and actions with it. Walk in expectation, knowing that God will reveal Himself to you through it.
